MythDora 12.23 Release Notes

Mythdora 12.23 has been released. There are a few changes from 10.21 but mostly on the cosmetic side of things. We're now using the stock mythtv theme out of the box, as well as stock paths. Please review the following release notes and use this link to retrieve the isos.

Thanks to all the beta testers for their support.

Upgrading MD 10.21 to Mythtv 0.22 RC1

With the 0.22 release right around the corner I thought it would be a good idea to have some update guidance available for the non-meek.

I've personally been running 0.22 on MD10 for a number of months with no issue, and now with a stable release candidate available it's time for people to start upgrading if they choose.

Just a note.. The recommended path to get to 0.22 in the immediate future will be through yum upgrade initially.. Then 11.22 or 12.22 will follow. The move the rpmfusion in MD10.21 really makes this a world easier than in the older versions of MythDora.

Wanted: Remote Control Setup Information

In preparation of MythDora 11 we are looking for your help. As you know, remote controls and blasting is a hassle for everyone. We're hoping to have as much configuration completed as possible in MD11 and hopefully most of the kinks in configs worked out.

We would like anyone & everyone that had to manually get their receiver/blaster setup that did not work with native MD10.21 tool to post their configurations here.

What we want (as comments to this page):

Remote name & model # if it applies (as it appears in the infrared configuration screen of md10.21)
/etc/lircd.conf

MythDora 10.21

MythDora 10.21 has arrived. That's right we've jumped ahead a few versions to catch us up with our Fedora baseline. The intent is that going forward we'll release versions in-line with current Fedora versions.

There are some major changes for us in this release. We've moved away from the Xdialog installer and into a single firefox configuration for the initial system setup. This same setup can be called via the MythDora Tools menu for a variety of features and for further maintenance as you use your system.

Upgrading MythDora 4.0 for Schedules Direct

UPDATE - Since FC6 is now dead, you will need to delete all repos located in /etc/yum.repos.d EXCEPT the mythdora repo. Then do the yum upgrade \*myth\* command.

THIS UPGRADE IS FOR THE SCHEDULES DIRECT ENTRY ON A FRESH INSTALL OF VERSION 4.0 XMLTV users please continue on with the way you are doing things.

Fedora Core 6 is now officially unsupported at ATrpms. This is where the newest mythtv packages come from for Fedora. So in order to update MythTV to include the Schedules Direct update from now on, you will need to do the following.

New MythDora 4.0

The new and much improved MythDora 4.0 is finally ready. As you will see, things have improved greatly. Jarod and I have worked hard on this and I can safely say that this is the best version yet. This couldn't have been done without all the help from you beta testers. This was the best response I've gotten so far and I really appreciate all your help. Your help found issues that we never could have seen.
