Mythvideo Metadata Problem
Submitted by Chippyk on May 1, 2010 - 7:48pm
I've got a fresh copy of 12.23 installed. My main problem is when I add my metadata in Mythvideo (on the frontend not mythweb) I can download the metadata, fanart, and coverart just fine, but if I exit out of mythtv or reboot I loose all the metadata in Mythvideo. In the storage directories, all the coverart and fanart files are still there but they are no longer linked in Mythtv.
Any ideas?

I had the same issue on one of my frontends, it would show the metadata if I entered it in the front end, but as soon as I left Mythvideo and reentered it, all that info was gone. In reality, the data was still there, it just wasn't being shown.
There is a setting that needs to be turned on. If you go into Mythvideo and hit the Menu (which is the M key if you are using a keyboard), go to:
Settings > Metadata Settings
Make sure the check box "Enabled metadata in frontend" is checked. If not, check it, then hit OK, exit all the way out to the main menu of Mythtv then go back into MythVideo and the metadata should show up.
I do not have that menu option...
I have the same problem with data not 'saving'...
I also do not have that menu option... the Enable Medadata in Frontend is missing... where, oh where could it be?
I started having a similar
I started having a similar issue a few days ago.
I upgraded to 4gb of Corsair Ram.
I am having lockups constantly now.
I cannot ssh into the backend.
All my videos do not show up without a rescan.
Front ends are loading loading the "watch videos" screen slower then usual.
I bought some patriot ram today and will install it tomorrow and see if it a memory issue.
I ran memtest 86 v 3.4 for 4 days without any errors.
If I use memtest 86 with multicore v3.5 my machine reboots about 10 seconds after it starts.
I think I am having a conflict between the memory, Gigabit Mobo, or the PNY 9400gt video card somewhere.
Any ideas are welcome.

Is the Corsair memory on the Gigabyte QVL (Qualified Vendor List)? I have both a Gigabyte P55A-UD3 and ASUS P7P55D. The Corsair memory I used wasn't on the QVL and both motherboards would crash at random times within 48 hours of a reboot. I also ran the memory test without error for days. I swapped to Kingston memory (which was on the QVL) and both systems are now stable.
