IR Blaster Help - Yes I have read both the FAQ and Tips n' Tricks.

Before I begin: I have been using mythtv for over a week now and its absolutely fabulous. whatever issues I had were pretty minor and I was able to find the answers in the forums. Great work guys!!!

One last thing I am struggling with is to setup the IR blaster to change channels on my STB. I have a PVR 150 card which came with a remote and an IR Blaster which plugs right in to the card itself and _NOT_ the one which you hv to plug in to the com port.

During the setup, when mythtv asked me if I wanted to setup an IR Blaster I chose 'yes' and set it up on 'com1'. After reading thru a lot of posts on the forum, I think I shouldn't hv done that. The IR blaster I have plugs right in to the card rather than the com port. Now my remore works for evrything except for changing the channel. When I click the channel +/- button, mythtv thinks that the channel has been changed, but in reality it hasn't been.

My question is:

1. Can this be fixed without a re-installation?
2. If yes, Can some one just provide a very high level desc of steps I need to take to fix this problem. I will search and find out how exactly to implement those steps.

Thanks a lot for a great product and all the support!!

Back to just the remote working

You can get back to just the remote working properly without an IR blaster by editing /etc/modprobe.d/irblaster to remark out the setting from improperly selecting an unconnected UART.

Sorry to say that the IR

Sorry to say that the IR Blaster that comes with the PVR-150 is not supported in version 4.0. It will be in 5.0 though. Your best bet is to read this.
