A few questions about the setup

Hello,
as per the guide:
Partition-------Mount Point------Size---------------Format
/dev/hda1--------/boot-------50-150MB--------------ext3
/dev/hda2--------swap---same as RAM (ex: 512MB)--swap
/dev/hda3--------/------------4-12GB----------------ext3
/dev/hda5--------/video----Everything else-----------ext3
Would it be better to use this config?
/dev/hda1 /boot 50-100MB ext3
/dev/hda2 swap same as RAM (ex: 512MB) swap
/dev/hda3 / 4-12GB ext3
/dev/hda5 /video Everything else JFS/XFS
Various guides online suggest JFS/XFS for the video partition since they handle larger files much faster then ext3.

Yes I'm aware of JFS/XFS.
Yes I'm aware of JFS/XFS. I've used them before and found no real improvement. Now if you were experiencing some sort of problem like clearing the ringbuffer or something like that, then you may want to try one of these other formats. But I've never really had any problems at all from ext3. On the site here in the FAQ, you can read what I have on using these other formats. But please read carefully as there can be complications to doing this.
