Play Station 2

Sorry for all the questions but I can't seem to find an answer to this question.

I have a PS2 at home that is not getting used by anyone and I would like to hook it up to my PVR but my question is, how do I get the Playstation 2 video to show up on my monitor. I can hear the sounds from my reciever and their speakers but can't play any of the games. Is there an option somewhere where I can select like video 1 and play it through the AV Jacks on the back of the PVR-150 i have like I would with a regular TV?

Ok I got the picture showing

Ok I got the picture showing but realized that it is showing in the TV format where the audio and picture are like 4 seconds behind. So now my problem is how to get rid of that delay or to find another player that will play it without a delay. Is there any ideas on another player?

How did you do it?

How did you do it?
I am trying to do the same thing now.

Thanks!

From what I have asked on

From what I have asked on the MythtvUsers you cannot do it without a AV Box which run quite a bit. I found one that looks good on ebay for $50 but you might be able to find a PS2 VGA Adapter, I have heard that they do have those so that will also work. The AV Box I am looking at is This

Re: From what I have asked on

MythTV and the hardware it works with compose a digital video recorder, and not an A/V switch. You've already noticed that you'll be disappointed with the results in trying to use it as one. This is especially true for interactive things like game consoles.

If your TV has multiple inputs, use them.
Many DTS audio systems also have video switching capabilities. You can use that.
External composite A/V switches are really not that expensive. Radio Shack has some from $8 to $100 or thereabouts: http://www.radioshack.com/search/index.jsp?kwCatId=&kw=a/v%20switch&origkw=a/v%20switch&sr=1

Ok, I didn't put in all the

Ok, I didn't put in all the information, I have an extra vga input and what I meant was one of the vga boxs i put a link. I don't have a TV so this is my only option, connecting the ps2 to the input and then using the extra input I do have on my monitor.

Ok, I figured out how to

Ok, I figured out how to make the playstation appear through the S-Video input tuner, but now like you, I see that everything is delayed 4 seconds or so.

So, what you are saying is that there is no way to turn off the PVR functionality of the 150 so that you can watch things in real time?

Thanks!

Even if the PVR

Even if the PVR functionality was disabled, you would still encounter input lag. With video playback this is normally corrected by setting the audio delay in either mythtv, or your receiver, but that will not help you since you cannot adjust the input\output latency for the PS2 controller. As mgpalmer said, the only way around it is to have the ps2 hooked up directly to the tv, or if you have video switching, to the receiver.
